The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission's Lewiston-Queenston Bridge modernization project, including Phase 2, aims to improve efficiency at a busy U.S.-Canada border crossing with a $90 million investment.

This project aimed to modernize the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, a key crossing between Lewiston, New York, and Queenston, Ontario (Niagara-on-the-Lake). Construction consisted of replacement of existing lanes, addition of new lanes, a dedicated bus processing lane, and new support facilities for primary and secondary processing.

A carefully planned construction phasing schedule allowed for the existing plaza to remain fully operational throughout the duration of the construction. Lewiston-Queenston Bridge Plaza was awarded a LEED Silver Certification.
