Heavy Civil Concrete
Mainline Concrete Paving
When President Eisenhower saw the need for a National Highway system in the 1950s, a major investment in the national infrastructure of highways was made, and Mainline Concrete Paving became a national industry. Today, the United States National Highway System connects approximately 90% of the nation’s population and over 254 million vehicles in the United States to cities, towns, airports, and seaports across the country. This high volume of traffic requires an intensely durable and long-lasting product; one that requires minimal maintenance to reduce congestion impact. Mainline concrete paving achieves these goals. Surianello began paving concrete roadways during the 1970s on the New York State Interstate Highway System. We became an industry specialist in slip-form paving, shortening the project schedule and reduces labor costs. Today we continue to install concrete roadways throughout the northeast United States, utilizing new technologies that continue to reduce project timelines and labor costs, while increasing quality and smoothness.
Commercial Concrete
Airport Concrete Paving
Long-lasting, durable, and low-maintenance runways, taxiways, and apron areas are paramount in any modern airport or airbase. Surianello has experience in both military airbase and commercial airport construction. Using similar techniques and technologies developed in highway construction, concrete pavements, when well designed and implemented, provide these facilities with years of high-performance serviceability and minimal maintenance.
Industrial
Concrete pavement's ability to support heavier loads and large amounts of truck traffic makes it a natural fit for industrial use. Industrial sites with 18-wheeler truck traffic such as intermodal and logistics centers, distribution centers and warehouses, truck stops, manufacturing plants, and big-box retail facilities are ideal locations for the use of concrete pavement. Surianello has experience installing concrete pavement for these, and many other industrial uses.
Barrier Wall
Used to redirect and contain errant vehicles (including large 18-wheelers) traveling at highway speeds, barrier walls must be made to specific design and strength requirements in order to function properly and ensure the safety of our roadways. Slip-form concrete barrier walls can be made in various shapes, for multiple uses, and are more durable and longer-lasting than conventional guide rails. Surianello has decades of expertise in installing these barrier walls using slip form technology. As one of the few companies using adaptive slip-form technology to create decorative concrete barrier walls, we are at the forefront of the industry.
Saw-Cutting
Saw-cutting is used to alleviate the risk of unsightly and possibly structurally deficient cracking in newly placed concrete as well as to expedite the removal of aging concrete. Surianello provides core drilling, slab sawing, and wall sawing services in either an on-call capacity or as a subcontracted service.
Curb & Gutter
Neighborhood subdivisions, commercial developments, and city streets all typically use concrete curb and gutter to guide and contain traffic as well as direct the flow of water runoff. Surianello was one of the first companies in New York State to install curb and gutter using slip-form technology, which reduces construction time and overall costs. Today we continue to install curb and gutter using these techniques.
Commercial Decorative
Municipalities and landscape architects are increasingly specifying aesthetically pleasing concrete in their designs. As a response to these trends, the concrete industry has improved materials and techniques to make decorative concrete more affordable. Surianello has both the knowledge and equipment to install decorative concrete in a variety of settings. As a company, we are at the forefront, using adaptive slip-form technology to create decorative concrete barrier walls. We can also provide stamped concrete finishes in flat applications like roundabouts, sidewalks, and medians. Furthermore, Surianello Concrete can install exposed aggregate concrete in a variety of settings.
